1993 Signature Pinot Gris

Winemaker's Notes

Aromas of tropical fruits, orange blossoms, citrus, pears, and spice are abundant in this wine. In the mouth, the wine is rich and round with flavors of fresh pears, anise, lemon, and nutmeg that give way to a long spicy finish. The 1993 King Estate Pinot Gris has excellent acid balance and pairs well with a wide variety of foods. Suggested retail: $10.99

Growing Season
Oregon weather was warm during the bloom period and the fruit set was exceptional.

The summer was unseasonably cool and cloudy which significantly prolonged fruit maturation.

Fortunately, the fall was hot and dry and the fruit reached full maturity, and was harvested before the fall rains started.

The long maturation period produced pinot gris/grigio fruit with excellent depth and complexity of flavor.
