King Estate
2003 Pinot Gris
One of Oregon's largest wineries, King Estate is nearly synonymous with Pinot Gris, and this wine is widely distributed across the country. It is like biting into fresh fruit, thanks to its aromas and flavors of apples, pineapples and pears. Enjoy this with shellfish or poultry.

Bright and tangy, with nectarine and grapefruit notes, lingering nicely on the open-textured finish.

Alluring aromas of toasted nuts, pear, and vanilla. Ripe, focused pear flavors with a clean and long finish; nice richness. Serve with pea and ricotta ravioli with hazelnut butter sauce.

King Estate, 2003 Oregon Pinot Gris
Estate was not the first to plant pinot gris in Oregon, but it was the first to make enough of it to sell nationwide. Its wines are still some of the best. Slightly more forward than usual, owing to vintage, King Estate's entry-level gris has youthful aromas of very ripe apples set against greener, fresher elements of cucumber and grapey scents. It's full and lush, with ripe apple and green-grape flavors that are full, uncomplicated and delicious, with a finish that recalls those fresh green aromas, lasting, persistent, and pure. Serve with sea bream or a similar rich white fish.

King Estate, 2003 Pinot Gris Oregon
Excellent Pinot Gris: supple, full bodied, finely flavored (roasted nut, lemon peel, baked pear), and long on the finish. [2005-2006]
