The Tradition of Terroir

Terroir, or the sense of place that wine conveys, is often thought to comprise four elements. Three are straightforward – soil, climate and terrain. The fourth is “tradition.” That’s us -- humans. It’s the least defined and thus most intriguing aspect of terrain. We saved the best for last.
