Oregon’s leading winery seeks a customer service-minded food and wine lover to take a position as backwaiter in its elegant on-site restaurant. The successful candidate will have speed, efficiency, and initiative. Essential Job Functions:

• Great communication skills and a willingness to engage with guests and co-workers in a professional manner
• Be prepared to participate in food knowledge training
• Fulfill duties with precision, finesse, meticulous attention to detail
• Understand the steps of service, execute them with efficiency and grace in a high-volume setting
• Possess proficient tray service skills or ability to learn quickly
• Assist server to ensure all guests have their expectations exceeded
• Assist server in supporting guest needs and requests including but not limited to water, coffee, tea, bread and beverage service
• Set, clear and reset table throughout service per assigned server’s instructions; ensure that all tables are ready prior to the food arriving
• Respond appropriately to guest requests; communicate such requests to servers/managers immediately
• Support other sections and staff members as needed to ensure all restaurant patrons have their needs met
• Complete side-work and stocking before, during or after shift
• Perform all other duties assigned by managers as needed


• Knowledge and understanding of fine-dining etiquette
• Classic food and wine service experience
• Warm and engaging personality
• Strong organizational skills, ability to manage priorities and workflow
• Reasoning ability skills: can carry out written or oral instructions without problems
• Interact and communicate well with others at all levels and departments
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and gracious behavior when environment becomes stressful and fast-paced, and when priorities change
• Maintain professional demeanor and dress
• Have or ability to obtain a valid OLCC and food handlers card
• Flexible schedule required: evenings, weekends, holidays as needed

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
• Stand, sit, walk for extended periods of time
• Stoop, reach, kneel, or crouch, use hands for duration of shift
• Working environment has exposure to both indoors and outdoors
