Oregon’s leading winery seeks a customer service-minded food and wine lover to provide outstanding service in its elegant onsite restaurant in one of the state’s most beautiful settings. Essential Job Functions:

• Work under the direction of our managers and chefs
• Maintain positive communication and teamwork with all co-workers and supervisors
• Effectively pass information from kitchen to the service team
• Study and learn every element of each dish and beverage
• Have an in-depth knowledge of the food, its components, preparations, techniques, ingredients, and purveyors – must be comfortable delivering this knowledge to guests at all times
• Ability to fully describe dishes with accuracy based on the standards of the chef
• Knowledge and understanding of proper service, etiquette and proficient tray service skills
• Work directly with runner and backwaiter to ensure seamless service for guests
• Ensure all orders are accurate and brought to each table in a timely manner
• Smoothly and effortlessly transition from a lively kitchen environment to a calm, gracious presence in the dining room
• Be knowledgeable and familiar with the breadth of King Estate wines; must be able to communicate information on current releases, library wines and club wines
• Manage assigned areas of restaurant per manager’s direction
• Prepare final bill, gracefully deliver check to customer and process payment
• Efficiently complete opening and closing duties per shift according to the standards of managers
• Ensure the cleanliness of work areas and maintain a well-organized work environment
• Assist with other aspects of table service including making and delivering beverages or bussing and resetting tables, rearranging tables, or other jobs as assigned

• Two (2) years of classic food and wine service
• WSET or Sommelier Certification (or in process) preferred
• Sound wine knowledge with a commitment and enthusiasm for wines served in our Tasting Room and Restaurant
• Understand the winery, winemaking techniques, winery history, vineyard; this will help with general conversation
• Experience working with fine wine and food in a customer service-focused environment; proven customer service skills a must

• Maintain professional demeanor and dress
• Understanding of Micros, NVPOS, or other POS systems
• Basic math skills and ability to handle money
• Communicate well, verbally and written
• Experience with Micros and other POS systems
• Valid OLCC and food handlers license
• Dependable transportation
• Flexible schedule required: evenings, weekends, holidays as needed
Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
• Stand, sit, walk for extended periods of time
• Stoop, reach, kneel or crouch, use hands for duration of shift
• Working environment has exposure to both indoors and outdoors
