Tasting Notes

This 2017 Pinot Noir has a deep garnet color with bright red edges. The nose is expressive with fruit forward notes of ripe strawberry, Bing cherry and black tea, framed by subtle aromas of cigar box and toasted vanilla. The flavors tend toward the red fruit spectrum, with raspberry and ripe strawberry leading the way. There are sweet oak flavors from the barrel aging along with gentle vanilla tinges. Enjoy now through 2037.

King Estate Willamette Valley Pinot Noir reflects an excellence recognized worldwide. Made with the best selection of grapes each year, the 2017 vintage was sourced primarily from King Estate’s certified Biodynamic® vineyard as well as a handful of like-minded sustainably-farmed vineyards throughout the Willamette Valley.

Winemaker Notes

These 100% Pinot Noir grapes are meticulously hand-sorted. Each lot is fermented in small batches with up to 20% whole cluster inclusion. Stainless steel fermentation with daily punch downs and pump overs is followed by malolactic fermentation. These distinct vineyards lots are barrel-aged for 8-10 months in French oak barrels before we make the final blend.
